New Berea College Power Plant Enhances An Already Beautiful Campus

The beautiful campus at Berea College (KY) was recently enhanced by the addition of a new Power Plant building.
BA+ Architecture, of Bowling Green (KY), was the project architect and saw TSP Co., Inc., of Lexington (KY) install the Lawrenceville Brick Co.’s Old Salem face brick with Ochre mortar from Cemex.

The stone you see in both photos is from Rockcast. Their cast stone was used as sills, quoins, keystones and corbel units, in both smooth and splitface textures.
The General Contractor, Builders By Design, and the Construction Manager, Sodexho, are both from Bowling Green.
The masonry materials were supplied by the Lee Brick and Block location in Lexington (KY).

Wyndall’s Foodland Uses Splitface Masonry Units

If you’d like to see two great colors, red and charcoal, integrally blended into a splitface concrete masonry unit, look no further than the Wyndall’s Foodland in Owensboro, KY.
R.L. Wilson Masonry, of Owensboro, was the mason contractor who installed these great looking units.
Collignon and Nunley Architects, also of Owensboro, was the architect who selected the use of and the colorization of the concrete masonry units. These units were installed under the watchful eye of Envision Contractors, the general contractor.
Load bearing masonry walls have been around a long time and have always given good service at a fair cost.
