Citizens First Plaza

Down in Bowling Green (KY), the local Lee Brick and Block office supplied Simon Masonry, also of Bowling Green with these Marion Ceramic 300-Tavern Flash, from their (thin brick) Vee Brick line.

The Marion Ceramic website explains the use of thin brick for veneers like this:

” The use of thin brick veneer masonry has evolved over many years. Traditionally, thin brick have been installed in the same way as ceramic wall tile (i.e. on to a vertical substrate which could be masonry or interior or exterior stud wall - steel or wood). These types of installations continue to be used with the coursing of the veneer brick being set by a metal rack nailed to the wall, spacers or the rope method. Ceramic tile installation requirements should be followed for these types of installations. “

Marion Cramic 300 Tavern Flash

This renovation project was designed by The CFP Group, LLC, an architectural firm from Nashville (TN) and constructed by Scott, Murphy and Daniel, LLC, a Bowling Green based General Contractor.

The thin brick veneer was attached using the Loxon Panel Attachment System, from Universal Brick Systems.

When Charlie Wilson, owner of R.L. Wilson Masonry of Owensboro (KY) built a new storage facility at his office, he went above and beyond the call of duty for masonry contractors.

Not only did he build in out of masonry materials, he installed an American flag in the wall, using painted splitface masonry units, glazed masonry units and good ‘ol fashioned ingenuity.

R.L

Natural grey and Camelia red lightweight concrete splitface units were used, along with Lehigh’s natural grey mortar.

Here’s a closeup of the red splitface units and you can click on any of the photos to enlarge them to a full-screen view.

The local Owensboro location of Lee Brick and Block provided the masonry materials and wishes to thank R.L. Wilson Masonry for not only using masonry to build their new facility, but for the tremendous gesture towards our great country.
